About me

I’m from the ‘good ole’ state of Alabama.

Growing up in the ‘Heart of Dixie’, it’s hot. Despite it being hot, I own more winter clothes than I do in summer. That’s because I really love the wintertime in ‘Bama. Gets just cold enough that I don’t feel like my toes are gonna fall off. And the lack of snow doesn’t stop me from snuggling up in a blanket and watching movies with my family.

Speaking of family, I grew up in a ‘semi’ big household. At one point it was me, my mom, grandma, auntie, her two kids, and my great-grandmother. One thing I remember vividly while there was that despite how crowded it would get, I’d always find a corner to put my toys in, set up my iPod, and immediately start filming. And because they were toys, I didn’t have to pay anyone (free labor)!

I’ve always been a fan of music, enjoying listening to anything and everything. Growing up I spent a lot of time around ‘seasoned saints’ (older folk) because of this, I grew up on 80s and 70s R&B, Jazz, and Classic Rock. Don’t ask me my favorites cause’ it’s really hard to decide… But I really love Anita Baker. Despite my stage fright growing up, I always enjoyed singing and performing.

All this to say, my life revolves around three things, my family, my art, and my random hyper fixations like Yu-Gi-Oh. If you’ve read this far, well thanks: I’m sure a youthful Saniya, who had lots of dreams, ideas, and flair for the dramatics.
